Twice a year the Madera Research & Technology Center (RTC) hosts training courses that teach our customers about In-Container and Aseptic (In-Flow) thermal processing, two methods by which JBT equipment creates shelf-stable foods. Representing 14 of our customer companies, 34 people participated in the October sessions, and went away with a greater understanding of thermal processing in general and of their own sterilizers.
Our training courses and certifications are a part of JBT’s Expert Assurance program and are designed to develop different competencies for various roles to help your business grow. Thermal Processing Academy
Thermal Processing Academy (TPA) provides insight into the technological issues related to the thermal processing of foods. The Thermal Processing course explores in-container sterilization and consists of 4 days of lecture and one day of hands-on experience in the Process Technologies Laboratory. The course is intended for all staff members who play a role in the manufacture of safe and high-quality canned foods such as line operators, line supervisors, plant engineers, food technologists, product developers and quality assurance staff.
Based on this course’s knowledge, participants will understand the impact of their actions and responsibilities on the quality and safety of the product produced. Course lectures include Microbiology and Sterilization Concepts, Retorts and Temperature Distribution, Heat Penetration and Critical Factors, Process Calculations Methods, and Process Deviations.
This course includes both classroom instruction and hands-on pilot plant experience and each participant will receive a training certificate at the end of the course
Aseptic Processing and Packaging Technologies Course
The Aseptic Processing and Packaging Technologies Course provides insight into the technological issues related to the aseptic processing and packaging of foods and beverages. The course is intended for all staff members who play a role in the manufacture of safe and high-quality aseptic foods such as line operators, line supervisors, plant engineers, food technologists, product developers and quality assurance staff.
The Aseptic course lectures cover Continuous Flow Aseptic Thermal Process Technologies, Aseptic Thermal Process Design and Calculations, Aseptic Filling Technologies, Aseptic Standards regarding Regulatory, Validation, Verification, and Microbiology of the Aseptic System.
The Aseptic Processing and Packaging Technologies Course is held at the JBT Madera, CA (USA) Process Technologies Laboratory and each participant will receive a training certificate at the end of the course.
