JBT FTNON will showcase several of its groundbreaking innovations developed to improve food safety, hygiene and processing efficiency for fresh-cut salad and vegetable producers at a series of Open Days taking place at the company’s facility in Almelo, the Netherlands from November 11-15 2019.
Visitors to the Open Days will be able to view demonstrations of solutions including the CoreTakr® Flex and the CoreTakr® Iceberg for safe, efficient robotic de-coring of iceberg lettuce, cabbage and other products. The Bell pepper de-corer (SPD-200) removes the unpleasant and time-consuming task of having to core bell peppers manually, while improving productivity and yield in the process.
The Magnetic Onion Peeler (MOP-200) – developed by FTNON in collaboration with Gills Onions and the American USDA – reduces the costs of maintenance and is able to process up to 120 onions per minute by using frictionless permanent super magnetism, eliminating the need for wires, tubes, belts and springs.

FTNON’s washing and drying lines include the Super Batch Centrifuge SBC, a solution which has been especially developed for drying fragile salads by evenly dividing the pieces around a centrifuge in a conical drum. The system’s easy-to-clean, hygienic design helps ensure less product damage and at the same time reduces energy costs and the overall footprint.
The Open Days will also feature demonstrations of JBT FTNON alliances and JBT’s new IoT software platform known as iOPS®.
